The Better Internet Bureau

The Better Internet Bureau claims to be protecting the internet since 1998.  In reality they protect nothing more than their own profits and the sites that pay them so that they can put up their logo.

The Better Internet Bureau does nothing more than review content to assure that it “may be useful.”

They have no affiliation with the Better Business Bureau or with any government agency and have no authority to do anything whatsoever to any site.  Furthermore they don’t do anything about fraud beyond host a forum for discussion.

If you see their logo, I would recommend doing a double take, and consider the content that the site is promoting.

I’m not going to say that the Better Internet Bureau is a bad thing, but I will say that it appears to be a useless creation, and don’t see that it has any more use that the hundreds (or thousands) of other public forums out there.
