More On Credit Scams
As more and more people fall into difficult financial times, I have to restate the warning to beware of scams targeted to “fix your credit.” Most of these companies will do absolutely nothing for you. Some of them will actually help you. Most will do nothing for you that you cannot do for yourself. Some will ask you to take useless or even illegal actions.
Be very careful about entrusting your personal information to these companies. Although there are some legitimate services out there that offer solid advice and are willing to do some legwork for you, there are more out there who are actually looking to steal your identity and use your credit information for their personal gain. Some do nothing more than resell your information to poor credit lenders. Others are frauds and thieves looking to prey on the vulnerable.
Always double check who you are doing business with before signing anything and before giving away any money.
